Dear Valued Customer,
Effective January 1, 2018, the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is requiring that the purchase of 30 lb cylinders of R134a and 10 lb. cylinders of R1234YF require an AC certification card (609 certification for automotive) or a signed resale agreement if the purchaser is purchasing the refrigerant for eventual resale.
We also require HVAC purchasers to produce an AC certification (608 certification for HVAC) for end users or sign a resale agreement if the purchaser is purchasing the refrigerant for eventual resale. If you are an end user, then you must show evidence that at least one technician within your company is properly certified. If you are a wholesaler that sells any refrigerant for resale you are legally responsible for ensuring that your customers fit into one of the categories of allowed purchasers under the sales restriction. Although the regulation does not specify precautions that wholesalers must take to verify the intent of individuals purchasing refrigerant, EPA recommends that wholesalers obtain a signed statement from the purchaser indicating that he or she is purchasing the refrigerant only for eventual resale to certified technicians.
If you are purchasing refrigerant for resale purposes from Refrigerants Center. Inc. please fill out the attached . Resale Agreement and it will be sent to alex@refrigerantscenter.com
**R134a 12 oz. cans and R1234YF 8 oz. cans are not subject to this sales restriction**
Changes with R134a 12 oz. cans - EPA is now requiring that small cans of R134a packaged after January 1st, 2018 be outfitted with self-sealing valves. EPA is not restricting the sales of the old style R134a cans, and therefore they can be purchased and sold with no issues until current stock piles are sold out.

Refrigerants Center, inc. Resale Agreement
I fully understand that I am purchasing refrigerants from Refrigerants Center, Inc. only for the eventual resale to certified technicians.
R-410A, a near-azeotropic blend of HFC-32 and HFC-125, is the standard refrigerant in new residential and light commercial air conditioning systems. Known for its excellent energy efficiency and zero ozone depletion potential, R-410A is engineered to deliver superior performance in high-pressure systems, making it the go-to replacement for outdated R-22 systems.
Key Features and Benefits:
✅ Eco-friendly composition: R-410A contains no chlorine, giving it an ODP of 0. It complies with global environmental standards and is safer for the ozone layer compared to legacy refrigerants.
✅ High cooling efficiency: Offers greater energy efficiency and better heat transfer capabilities than R-22, making it ideal for high-performance systems.
✅ Reliable in high-pressure systems: Designed to operate at higher pressures, R-410A supports more compact components and improved system performance.
✅ Widely supported: Compatible with modern HVAC equipment and synthetic lubricants (POE oil), ensuring easy servicing and component availability.
R-410A Physical Properties
-
Chemical Composition: 50% R-32 / 50% R-125
-
Boiling Point: -48.5°C (-55.3°F)
-
GWP (Global Warming Potential): 2,088
-
ODP (Ozone Depletion Potential): 0
Main Applications
Residential and Commercial HVAC Systems
Commonly used in split-type air conditioners, central A/C units, and packaged rooftop systems for both homes and businesses.
Heat Pumps and Dehumidifiers
Preferred refrigerant for newer high-efficiency heat pump models and air treatment systems requiring reliable climate control.
New Equipment Installations
Widely adopted as the industry standard for systems built post-R-22 phaseout.
Note on Environmental Regulations
While R-410A is ozone-friendly, its GWP is still significant. It is gradually being phased down in favor of next-generation refrigerants with lower environmental impact. For existing equipment, R-410A remains fully legal and essential for maintenance. Always adhere to local refrigerant handling guidelines.
